In each class, we will sketch and draw a different theme subject like an animal or a character. Social discussion is part of the process and understanding. What shapes come to mind when you see this image? How do shapes allow us to get to this point? What are shapes? I will teach students how to visually break down the object (from an image example) into basic shapes and then lead them to create the object through drawing. This will not only help students to become better at analyzing art from a different point of view, but will increase their art skills efficiently! The class will cover discussion and teachings of drawing techniques discussing 3 main areas of drawing: 1) Sketching, 2) Outline, and 3) Basic Shading. It is a step-by-step class; yet, students are encouraged to add their own touch to the work. Learners can join at any time and do not need prior class experience; however, it is encouraged for learners to have a simple understanding of drawing.
