Self-paced class for total beginners where we'll learn the basics of playing the piano, such as music notes/rhythms and lots of songs! Original instructional videos/play-alongs/worksheets + weekly teacher feedback & support

Piano anatomy, how to sit correctly at the piano, finger numbers, hand shape/position for playing piano, geography of the piano keyboard, patterns on the keyboard, quarter notes & half notes, black key songs. ✨Students can send me a recording of their playing and/or a photo of completed written assignments at any point during the week, and I will reply with written or video feedback.

Learning about Dynamics, learning songs with dynamics, learning middle C, learning the music alphabet, learning notes C, D, E, F, G, songs with C, D, E, F, G; dotted half note rhythm. Learning how to read/write the notes in left hand; learning how to read/write notes in right hand ✨Students can send me a recording of their playing and/or a photo of completed written assignments at any point during the week, and I will reply with written or video feedback.

Skips and steps, learning whole note rhythm, treble clef song, bass clef song, Treble+bass clef song, learning legato playing, intervals, music listening. ✨Students can send me a recording of their playing and/or a photo of completed written assignments at any point during the week, and I will reply with written or video feedback.

Doing a music terms game, learning the music alphabet. Learning songs: "Clever Pup", "The Zoo". Introduction to the music staff, and music clefs. Learning "A happy song". Playing with teacher accompaniment recordings. ✨Students can send me a recording of their playing and/or a photo of completed written assignments at any point during the week, and I will reply with written or video feedback.

Doing a rhythm activity; learning to play legato, and playing legato songs: "Baloons", "See-Saws". Playing with teacher accompaniment (student-teacher duet). ✨Students can send me a recording of their playing and/or a photo of completed written assignments at any point during the week, and I will reply with written or video feedback.
  • Students will learn such fundamental areas of piano playing as : -proper piano posture -hand position -music alphabet -rhythms -etc. (Please see full description for more information)

Frequency: 3-6 throughout the class

Details: Students will need to practice in between lessons and submit a recording of themselves playing the practical assignments (on the piano) as well as a photo of completed written assignments (such as rhythm worksheets)

Frequency: 1 after class completion
Details: Printable & personalized certificate of achievement offered at the end of the course. No graded assessments, or grades for the class.
