Class Experience

In this class, we will use fun, interactive methods to learn Spanish, with a focus on simple vocabulary and pronunciation. Our approach will involve introducing and practicing Spanish words during game time to make learning more engaging and memorable for the children. By combining gaming with language learning, students will not only enjoy the process but also retain the vocabulary more effectively.

Each session will begin with a short review of the day’s vocabulary. I will introduce simple Spanish words, phrases, and pronunciations that are relevant to the game and everyday life. This will help students build a foundational vocabulary that they can use both in class and beyond. By practicing these words through gaming, they will be able to incorporate them into conversations naturally.

After the vocabulary review, we’ll jump into playing a round or two of Mario Kart. The game serves as a fun and dynamic way to reinforce the language concepts taught. While racing around the track, students will apply the new words they’ve learned, such as terms for directions, speed, or in-game actions like "acelerar" (to accelerate), "frenar" (to brake), and "girar" (to turn). I will guide them in using the vocabulary during gameplay, encouraging them to speak Spanish as they navigate the game.

This approach allows students to focus less on memorization and more on active learning through experience. They’ll be able to enjoy themselves, forgetting that they are in the middle of a language lesson, while still effectively practicing and absorbing new Spanish words. In doing so, they will improve their pronunciation and conversational skills in a natural and enjoyable way.
