Our full curriculum structured reading sessions are designed to build reading skills to enjoy and fully engage with the text. Here their curiosity is applied to spark inquisition that will lend to deep conversations and strong connections. I specialize in phonemic awareness and phonics development. With these two academic foundational focuses young readers will interact with letters and letter sounds to develop a repertoire of word-building and identifying skills. Consistent attendance will lend to multiple points of exposure to both literary and informational texts. Through explicit instruction and theme-based instruction, various examples, and innumerable opportunities to practice, your reader’s comprehension will begin to grow. This class is also ready to support & supplement the homeschool curriculum or be an extra source of support for public and private education.
Learning Goals
Students will gain access to a variety of quality, age and skill specific text to increase their exposure and practice with letters, sounds, words, sentences and stories. Participants will gain a reading tool kit that can enhance comprehension, accuracy, fluency and extend their vocabulary.
