In this multi-day course we will continue learning Italian! Students enrolled in this class should have already taken my level 1 class OR have previous knowledge of colors, numbers, emotions, animals. In level 2 we will add some more vocabulary and continue with simple sentences. I will guide students through the classes with an interactive approach to learning. First, a little bit of background about me: I am a native Italian speaker from Florence, Italy with a degree in Communication Science from the University of Pisa. I have over four years of teaching experience in ESL and in Italian as a second language. I am extremely passionate about teaching and very lively in class. I want my students to have fun while learning. What will students learn in this course? In class, we will apply vocabulary and sentences to games and interactive activities. Outside of class, students will receive the materials to practice at home. The students will have two classes a week. The first class will introduce the theme of the week and the main vocabulary. In the second class of the week we will add some extra vocabulary and review the previous lesson. I will focus class time on learning, applying what we learned and practicing independently. Having two shorter classes is the best way to keep the ideas fresh and have constant exposure to the language. Class sizes will be smaller to support the students and help them with pronunciation. Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello! I am an Italian-American teacher who grew up between Florence, Italy and Pennsylvania USA. I am an Italian as a second language and ESL teacher with over six years of teaching experience. I am a native Italian and English speaker, and grew up in a bilingual household. I love teaching kids of all ages and throughout my teaching career; I have taught students from ages 3-18. I have been teaching Italian on Outschool for two years and love sharing my passion for languages with my students. I currently create and teach Italian and English classes in creative ways through interactive slides, games, art, and more. My greatest passion is teaching, and I want to make the classroom a fun environment for my students!
I have a B.A. and M.A. in Communication Science, a TESOL certificate, and an Italian language C2 certification. I recently graduated with my Master's in Marketing Management. I also have worked with children for years teaching multiple age groups and many subjects in English and Italian. I have created my own curriculum and have a unique teaching style which follows a hands-on approach.
My teaching style is fun, engaging and personal. I want to get to know my students and I want their class time with me to be a complete learning experience that focuses on hands-on learning.
So why study languages? Why study Italian or English? Language development is fundamental for young learners. Foreign language studies also peak curiosity in learners, both younger and older. Italian is a useful language nowadays, not just for the language but also to improve logic, language arts, and it can serve as a starting point for other Latin languages. English is a necessary language today for life and for work. I hope to bring my passion for this beautiful language into your child's life.
I offer a variety of courses. I love Outschool, because I can teach my language, but also my passions, such as marketing, social studies, and more! I hope to see your learner in my classroom soon.
