Class Experience

In this course, learners will build on existing basic knowledge and understanding of Arabic letters to practice reading Arabic text. Each week, learners will focus on a reading rule and practice identifying it and using it through reading, writing and spelling.

The teacher uses interactive tools to create an engaging, fun and beneficial learning experience for the learners, leaving them with a lasting impact.

Arabic text is truly unique since small diacritics (known as tashkeel) affect pronunciation and intonation. This course will focus on identifying them and practicing how to use them and write them.

Student will be provided with weekly worksheets to allow them to practice and solidify their learnings. Students are encouraged to take advantage of these to help take their learning to the next level.

The course structure is as follows:

WEEK 1: Revision of Arabic letters and practice joining the letters through reading and writing 3 letter words.

WEEK 2: Introduction to the three long vowels (madd) and practice reading words with madd.

WEEK 3: Introduction to inundation (tanween) practice reading words with tanween.

WEEK 4: Introduction to the sun and moon letters and practice reading words with sun and moon letters.

WEEK 5: Reading practice with Hazmat and Alif Al-maqsura

WEEK 6: Wrap up + reading and spelling review with all rules.

Marhaban!

I'm so glad you've decided to teach your learner Arabic and I hope I can take part in their language learning journey!

I’ve been privileged to have grown up a bilingual speaker, which has given me a massive appreciation for languages. I’m passionate about bridging the gap between Arabic and English and using my skillset and background to help uncover the beauty of Arabic to those who want to learn it and facilitate their language learning.

My background has given me a unique skillset and personality which has enabled me to experience amazing opportunities, one being working for the UN as a consultant for two years. I’m a firm believer that each language you speak or learn activates a different aspect of your personality and opens unique doors of opportunities and experiences that others might not be exposed to. If you’re thinking about learning a language, go for it! You won’t regret it.

I enjoy seeing my students progress from knowing nothing about Arabic to slowly building their language skills and I would love to join your learner on their language learning journey.

Having lived, studied and worked in Libya, Spain, Switzerland and the UK have peaked my interest in culture, languages and politics. I have a masters degree in International Studies and Diplomacy and I currently work as a content executive in my day job.

I like my lessons to be fun and interactive. I design my classes using different mediums and methods (video, text, puppets etc.) to keep learners engaged and learning with the aim that all my lessons are enjoyable and beneficial at the same time. I like to use creative imagination and story telling whenever possible to help learners grasp different concepts. I’m also a technology enthusiast and love incorporating it in my virtual class whenever I can to make lessons extra appealing to learners.

I hope to see you in class soon!

Shukran!
