Learn to play beautiful tunes and songs with Guzheng by taking lessons by a patient teacher from Strings Beyond, Vienna Yeung.
Class experience
Every week, students will learn to read music, how to properly play their guzheng, and how to enjoy the pieces of music they are learning. It is not necessary to know how to read sheet music before signing up for any lessons. Lessons are suitable for beginner and intermediate levels. I customize each lesson for the student, their interests, individual learning needs, and their abilities. Each lesson is 45 minutes. For my musician life: - Passed the Grade 8 Guzheng exam of the Chinese Conservatory of Music. - Passed the Royal Conservatory of Music’s Music Theory Grade 5 and 8 exams with distinction. - Completed Berklee College’s Developing Your Musicianship Specialization Certification. - My guzheng teachers include performers and educators of Nancy Chan from Hong Kong, Shirley Wong from Harmony Guzheng Ensemble in Calgary (Canada), BeiBei He from U.S., and Maria Chan from Toronto (Canada). - Passed the Grade 2 Harp exam of the Royal Conservatory of Music with distinction. - My harp teacher includes Nathania Ko – an educator and performer, and artist director at BC Chinese Music Association.
Homework Offered
Students will be expected to practice at least ten minutes per day every day outside of weekly lessons.0 - 1 hours per week outside of class
