Miss Devyn's Video Game Universe presents our Learn How to Draw: Video Game Characters Weekly Art Club! 🍎 Get to know our teachers (copy and paste in your browser): https://bit.ly/VGUMeetTheTeachers 🚀 Class Description: In this beginner-friendly class, learners will learn how to draw their favorite video game characters using whatever medium they prefer. Whether using digital or traditional art tools, teachers can help learners plan, design, and draw their favorite characters. Mario, Zelda, Pokémon, Kirby, Sonic, TV cartoons, movies, and anime can all be sources of inspiration for learners. If you do not see a time that works for your schedule, please reach out and we will try to accommodate schedule requests. This class is primarily student led for each week. Students of all artistic skill levels are welcome to join this class. ✨For beginners: -Importance of warming up -How to break a reference down into basic shapes -Draw lightly, and keep an eraser handy -Outlining and basic color 🎨For learners with more experience: -Sight drawing from a reference -How to use motion lines -Shading techniques -And whatever else they’d like to learn! 🥳 Small Class Sizes: Our smaller class sizes guarantee quality attention given to each individual! Rather than getting lost inside a giant class or being isolated inside a Zoom breakout room, our teachers play along on their screens and get to know every individual, and learners are given a chance to form true bonds of friendship. 📝 Course Requirements: - A love for art - A love for video games - Something to draw on/with (paper and pencil, drawing tablet, mouse, etc.) - A strong Internet connection to stay connected to the class No third-party resources will be used.
Learning Goals
Our goal in all of our classes is to give students, especially neurodiverse students, a safe place to express themselves. We also hope that they will make great friends who share their interests and passions, including video games, art, and literature!
Other Details
Learning Needs
All of our teachers have experience working with students who have unique learning needs. We want and welcome all students in our classroom. Our number one goal is to help all children feel like they have a place with their fellow artists.
Parental Guidance
Learners will be guided to use age appropriate characters only. No gamer tags are needed and art will only be shared within the classroom. This is strictly an art class. We will not be playing any of the video games in this class. The teacher might pull up a reference photo of different characters to help give students ideas.
Supply List
Traditional artists will need: Pencils, pencil sharpeners, plenty of paper or a sketchbook, erasers, markers/crayons/colored pencils Digital artists will need: Some sort of tablet (Ipad/Wacom/Cintiq) that is fully charged and a drawing program (Photoshop, Procreate, Krita, etc.)
