If students have DJ decks at home, they should prepare a one song mix for every session once they are comfortable with mixing.Class Experience
In this class the teacher will go over the basics of DJing. A discussion will be had at the beginning to understand how much the student knows and we will begin from there. Students that know nothing are fully welcome! My style of teaching allows for the student to discover things for themselves and assist them when needed. This course will fully allow the student to be confident enough to understand how to use DJ decks by the end of sessions. It would be best if the student has their own DJ setup, but it is not necessary. Topics covered include: How to use Rekordbox (DJ software) Understanding BPM How to transition a song Using the different features on the DJ decks like effects, faders, etc. Music genre How to choose the right songs and where to get them How to EQ Creating a mix VS live show How to get your first live show And much more! These topics will be covered each week and will be chosen based on what the students needs are.
