The class will focus on leaders Sam Adams, Paul Revere, John Hancock and even Benedict Arnold. Three events – The Boston Tea Party, attack on the HMS Gaspee and tar and feathering of tax collector John Malcolm – were the highlights of the group’s impact before the Revolution. We’ll also discuss what happened to the Sons of Liberty once the war began. Class discussion will include a summary so each student’s goals are met.

Growing up across George Washington’s Mount Vernon sparked my interest in colonial leaders. I teach history and civics classes that often center around our nation’s capital and its leaders.
