Welcome to our interactive French language gaming club inspired by the cozy RPG world of Stardew Valley! Join this immersive experience designed to help students of all levels improve their French skills while exploring the enchanting virtual world. No need to worry about owning the game, as you'll follow along on the teacher’s shared screen. 


The language level will be adjusted to the level of the learners in the class, but it will generally cover vocabulary encountered in the game such as words related to stores, towns, and farms. This class is appropriate for learners with 0 to 2 years experience in French learning, or from complete beginner to lower intermediate level.

Class Structure:
Duration: 30 minutes

1. Engaging Storytelling in a Cozy RPG Setting (10 mins):
Embark on an immersive 10-minute journey through a carefully crafted storyline set in the delightful world of Stardew Valley. This cozy RPG video game, similar to Animal Crossing, offers a warm and inviting atmosphere that appeals to all ages. Using the Teaching Proficiency through Reading and Storytelling (TPRS) method, we provide an optimal amount of "comprehensible input," making sure the communication is understandable and enjoyable.
2. Game-based Learning and Conversations (15 mins):
Experience the thrill of playing Stardew Valley as we explore the game together. Immerse yourself in the captivating gameplay of this cozy RPG, where you can engage in a variety of activities and interact with charming characters. This communicative approach, backed by Second Language Acquisition research, ensures that you receive ample comprehensible input while participating in interactive conversations.
3. Review and Homework (5 mins):
Wrap up each session with a quick review to reinforce the language concepts covered. Homework assignments, which include reading the story discussed in class, provide additional repetitions of the language, solidifying what you've learned through more comprehensible input.
