I am a licensed French teacher for grades preK-12. I have a BA in French, an MA in Sociolinguistics, and I am ESL certified. I am an energetic teacher with a love for teaching languages. My classes are inviting and engaging. I look forward to working with your learner soon!
I have lived for a year in Aix-en-Provence, France where I taught ESL in a private school. I have also traveled to Quebec, Canada 2 times with my middle school students. In the classroom for over 15 years, I have been required to teach about over 20 francophone countries as a requirement of the Virginia Standards of Learning for French. In addition, my classes always follow the National Foreign Language Association’s 5 C’s of language learning, which includes culture. In this course, students will learn about 10 different francophone countries. They will learn where they are on a map, why they speak French, and how French in used in their country.
