Assessment
Student moves to the next level only when the learner has understood and solved the previous level. The learner will be assessed as he/she progresses in the game.

Class Experience

I have built this class for structured learning from PART 1 to PART 6. A student who wishes to continue to build on the concepts on coding was welcome to join my other parts progressively. Until now I was offering classes for each PART 1 to 6 separately but now for the convenience of parents to enroll their child in one place for all parts 1 to 4, I have created ONE class for PART 1 to PART 4. I will not be offering separate classes for Part 1 to 6 from next week.
Please join my class for PART 1 to PART 4 if you wish to enroll your child for all 4 parts. The link for the class is shared below:

Please feel free to ask questions if any Thanks.:)

Students will use a computer online platform to work on. It is a fun platform to work on with graphics and animation.
I will share a link to the site (url) in the Zoom Chat after the class begins. Please help your child to click the web link shared in the Zoom chat during the class. NO downloads is required.

Using characters from the game, students will develop sequential algorithms to move a bird from one side of a maze to the pig at the other side. To do this they will stack code blocks together in a linear sequence, making them move straight, turn left, or turn right.

Initial 7 minutes will be Introduction and making sure that everyone has access to the link that will be shared during the class time.
Next 40 minutes will be working on puzzle and the challenge. I will keep explaining and helping them with their understanding as they progress.
Next 3minutes will be reinforcing the vocabulary and reflection on their learning.

Vocabulary
Algorithm - A list of steps to finish a task.
Bug - Part of a program that does not work correctly.
Debugging - Finding and fixing problems in an algorithm or program.
Sequencing - Putting commands in correct order so computers can read the commands.
Learning Goals
Students will develop programming and debugging skills on a computer platform. The block-based format of the puzzles will help students learn about sequence and concepts and the need to be persistent.

Parental Guidance
For those students that are not familiar working with Zoom and browser window it will be helpful if parents can support their kids with learning to minimize windows and to click the web link shared in the Zoom chat during the class. NO downloads is required. Since the links that I will share during class time in Zoom Chat , need to open in your browser (like any other link opens in a browser) some children get confused with both the Zoom and the browser window open at the same time. Please help them learn to minimize their Zoom window once they start working in the browser window. Thanks for your cooperation. :)
Supply List
Student will need a LAPTOP or a DESKTOP and should be able to click the web link shared in the Zoom chat during the class. NO downloads is required.
Please do not use an only one iPad or a tablet because it gets very frustrating for a student to keep both Zoom and the Browser tab to remain open during the class and feels lost in moving from one to another. I have some parents that use a chrome book and an iPad or two iPads. They use one to have the Zoom open and then they type in the url of the link in the other device.
