In this fun 8-week group class, students age 8-13 will learn snippets of their favorite meme songs! Songs played in this class will mostly split the melody between hands. The difficulty is roughly between Faber Primer and Faber Level 1. Each class we will only play about 8-12 measures of each song. Students can order selected sheet music with staff notes for early to mid beginners or the same sheet music with letter notes for total beginners. I will be in contact with you where to order the sheet music! Students are required to print the first page of each song before the class begins. Students who've played piano for a little while may want to print out whole songs. Some students may finish whole songs outside of this class, but many may need their private teacher to complete entire songs. This is a fun, relaxed class but it may still require students to practice 5-10 mins a day for some time to remember what they learned in class. Here are the specific song snippets we'll play: Week 1: Introduction to piano (Letters of keys, Week 2: Never Gonna Give You Up by Rick Astley Week 3: Trololo Song by Eduard Khil Week 4: Sandstorm by Darude Week 5: Carmina Burana by Carl Orff Week 6: Dueling Banjos by Eric Weissberg Week 7: In the Hall of the Mountain King by Edward Grieg Week 8: Take On Me by A-ha

Teacher expertise and credentials
Bachelor's Degree in Music or Theatre or Arts from Brigham Young University
Hi, I'm Ms. Grace. I teach beginner to advanced piano. I'm passionate about level, age-appropriate lesson books and pieces that fit my students' interests!
I started piano at age 5, as many classical pianists do. I studied with Rowan University piano faculty at age 15. While working on my degree at Brigham Young University, I took lessons in Vienna, Austria with faculty at the University of Vienna and the Vienna Konservatorium. In 2014, I graduated with a piano performance degree from BYU under Dr. Richard Anderson. Since then I’ve taught privately, judged in Encore and other regional competitions. I worked at the Utah Piano Academy for two years. I now run a piano studio full of happy, awesome kids. I am an active member of the Music Teachers National Association. I often prepare students for ABRSM, RCM, and local exams and events.
