Hey parents and learners, in this one-time class students will learn about an African American Inventor of their choice. This class is important because black inventors often go unnoticed in history. We should recognize those whose inventions have left a lasting impression on the world. Students will learn about some of the things we use in our daily lives that were created/improved by African Americans. Students will gain knowledge about inventors like; Allen, J. B., Bailes, Wm. Bailiff, C. O., Bell, L., Binga, M. W. Boone, Sarah, Brown, Marie Van Brittan, Brown, Albert, Burr, J. A., Burwell, W, Carrington, T. A. and many more inventors. Students will learn about the inventor's background history, their inventions and how their inventions made life easier. This class will be informative and engaging. Students will have the opportunity to share their thoughts and opinions about the inventors and their inventions. Students will also be able to show the inventors recognition by drawing or writing about the inventor/invention. We can also discuss how we can invent our own inventions. Instruction and Interaction: -Background History of the Inventor -Knowledge of Inventors Inventions -Open-ended discussions about Inventor - Possibly create a poster/ draw a picture to share what they learned about the Inventor -Do a writing activity about the Inventor (optional) Schedule: -We can follow my schedule, or you can choose at any random order. -We will learn about 1-2 Inventors per week. We will learn about another Inventor if we have time. *If you want to learn about someone that isn't shown on the list, message me a week in advance on your person of choice. A. * (Enroll again to learn about more Inventors) Structure of class: -Learners can use a tablet or computer in this class. -Learners can eat, drink and use the restroom when needed. Requirements: -Knowing how to use zoom tools (drawing feature, chat box) -Participate -Communicate -Do activities -Have materials ready to be used Online Rules: -Learners can use tablet or computer. -Learners can eat, drink and use the restroom. -Learners can dance to music if it's played. -Learners can leave early if work is completed. Cancelation/Transfers: Please message me at least a day before if you need to transfer or cancel a class. If you don't, I won't be able to match your request or give you a refund. *If you need to reach me don't hesitate to message me or write a classroom comment on the classroom page.
