In this class we will learn strong grammar skills (and it helps English grammar, too) with the reflexive and intensive pronouns, and how to use them in translations.

Class experience

Students will learn the reflexive and intensive pronouns and adjectives, and also refresh their memories of previous pronouns and special adjectives. They will work on translations, and learn new vocabulary.
I have a bachelors and masters degree in foreign language and history. I have taught and/or tutored this class at various levels and for various ages (middle school to university). I have traveled to and researched in the places I teach about, and I often include realia and cultural information to make the language come alive for the student.
Homework Offered
Homework is for YOUR benefit. Study the vocabulary. Make your noun/adjective/verb charts. Practice translations. I provide all the materials you need to work in your dedicated Latin notebook. For every hour of Latin class, you should be studying for - at the very least - two hours (I suggest a little more, but I am a big old Latin nerd).
2 - 4 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
Informal assessments are sent after class.
Grades Offered
If this is your first time in my class, I will send a comprehensive vocabulary handout prior to class. Bring it. If you have taken other Latin classes with me, bring the vocabulary handouts and your dedicated notebook to class! You will need to refer to it.

Students need a dedicated Latin notebook for making and studying their vocabulary and noun, adjective, and verb charts. This tool is key to learning and remembering word endings and the meanings of the root words.

After class, I will send via Outschool message a copy of the slide show as well as a vocabulary list and translation practice. I can send it in either Office format (docx or pptx), Apple format (keynote/pages), or as Google links (docs/slides). Let me know your preference.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
I draw from Wheelock 7th edition text, A Latin Grammar, 38 Latin Stories Designed to Accompany Wheelock, Cambridge Book 1, Minimus Book 1, Latin for Beginners, and my own studies. We use Latin Wiktionary as a free online source (dictionary).
