In this one time class, students will be learning all about 10 of the largest dog breeds in the world. They will learn all about their size, traits, needs, dispositions, and more. There are around 68 different large dog breeds, so this lesson will be about 10 of the largest of out those 68. The breeds that we will be discussing are: English Mastiff, Neapolitan Mastiff, Irish Wolfhound, Great Dane, Saint Bernard, Newfoundland, Leonberger, Anatolian Shepard, Cane Corso, and Great Pyrenees. To begin, students will have the chance to introduce themselves. Then they can share their pet or share what their favorite dog breed is. Following this, we will begin to review each of the ten largest dog breeds along with their size, what their typical disposition is, what their needs are, how easily trainable they are, and their various other traits. I will be using a Prezi presentation with beautiful pictures and lots of information. The students will have opportunities to have discussions and answer questions throughout this interactive lesson.
