In this class we will be learning literary elements through great literature. We'll spend each week analyze a passage while learning different skills. On the last week of class, we will have an online book-club party.

Language Arts Through Literature - Anne of Green Gables is a class where we will be learning language arts through great literature. Students can read the book or listen to it on audio. Each class will run 8 weeks. During the class we will be analyzing passages from the book; learning a variety of literary skills, looking at key punctuations and spelling, learning new vocabulary words, and having discussions about what we have read so far. I am a multiple subject credentialed teacher with over 20 years of classroom and homeschool experience. After 15 years of teaching in a classroom, I homeschooled my three kids as well as other students for 6 years.
Homework Offered
Each week, students will need to read or audiobook 8 chapters. This is the bulk of the homework load. Every other week, they will add their vocabulary word to a google slides. They may also do copywork, which can help in the learning process.1 - 2 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
After examining each passage, students will complete a proofread-dictation, which we will review immediately after completion. No grades will be given as the students will be looking over their work and correcting their own mistakes, if any.Grades Offered
The only requirement is the ability to read or audiobook 8 chapters in one week.
Students will need a printer, to print worksheets we will be using in class, pencils, and colorful pens or highlighters or colored pencils. They will also need access to Google Sheets, which I will send a link to.
