Class Experience

Students will use French to name clothes commonly worn during the hot summer months. Students will learn the French words for individual items of clothes. Using sentence frames, students will practice complete sentences using their new vocabulary. Students This is an introductory course. No former knowledge of French is necessary. Students will practice their speaking skills in beginning French using the simple present tense. If time allows, we will end class by playing a game of Kahoot! to practice their new skills.

*I understand that some students are shy to speak in a group setting. I have no problems with students listening and writing without speaking during class. Beginning language learners often go through a silent period of listening before speaking comfortably. Many students will quickly realize that using sentence frames gives them the confidence to try to speak during class. All students learn and participate at their own level of comfort during class.
Learning Goals
Students will learn to say the French pronouns for: I, you, she, he, and we.
Students will learn the names of summer clothes for the hot summer months: tee-shirt, shorts, sandals, hats, bathing suits, and sunglasses.

I have studied French since I was friends with a classmate who's family was from France. I studied throughout my school years and continue to practice when I'm home in America. Luckily, I get to travel frequently to France for real-world conversations and practice.
