Class Experience
All of our content and discussions for this class will take place within the Outschool classroom area. Each week I post a short video lesson, provide extra learning materials/resources, and a video assignment for the week. The video assignment will be a speaking, reading, and/or listening prompt giving the student the opportunity to record and post videos to the class page duplicating what is taught in the video lesson, showing their ability to say the alphabet, words, and phrases they've learned. Students can interact with each other and learn together through their videos clips, and I can provide constructive feedback for each student on their progress. Other students will also watch the videos posted and encourage one another as they improve their Korean together! In this class we will go over many topics about the Korean language, including: Week One: Intro to Korean Week Two: Written Language and Alphabet Week Three: Greetings Week Four: Likes and Dislikes Week Five: Where are You Going? Week Six: What are You Doing? Week Seven: Talking About Time Week Eight: Talking About the Past Week Nine: At a Restaurant Week Ten: Money Week Eleven: My Family Students will be able to identify Korean alphabet and phrases while exploring, comparing, and contrasting the Korean culture with their own! If additional help is needed, a live video chat can be scheduled at no extra cost! After this course is completed, I also offer Korean 2 and Korean 3!
Learning Goals
Gain a basic understanding of Korean through weekly immersion of the Korean language using the flexible online platform on Outschool! This class has NO LIVE MEETINGS. Perfect for students who aren't able to make a weekly assigned live online video chat, this class gives students the opportunity to reflect on what they learn in a flexible setting. As your students' needs change regarding schedule and time commitment, this class offers the student a fun way to learn Korean interactively without the pressure of scheduling live meeting times.
