Description
Class Experience
Students will learn the proper way to hold a knife while slicing and dicing their way into delicious and easy to prepare foods. Most importantly students will learn that preparing food doesn't have to be scary or tedious.
I love to cook. I especially love all the prep work of cooking. Over the years I have been hired by friends and co-workers to be their personal chef, to organize and supply party caterings, and I am flattered when what I have cooked gets all eaten up. Confidence with knife skills is the key to having fun cooking. Without the right skills the prep work is drudgery. I'd like to help young people gain the right skills so they can come to enjoy (safely) cooking for themselves and others.
Enjoy practicing the new skills and join me with all of your fingers our next class together.
There is not a material list. Students watch and learn and are encourage to ask questions during the class.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Confidence! That's what it is all about. That and safety, of course. Student will feel a greater sense of confidence in the kitchen. Student will keep all their fingers where they belong
40 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
This is a watch and learn class. Parents may want to supervise students after the class as they practice their knife skills in the kitchen - a great way to spend time together.
