Students will work together using Google Earth to locate Le Chevre and King Tut's mask. We will travel from country to country and gather clues from witnesses to locate Le Chevre and return the mask to the citizens of Cairo. The game is streamed on my computer and shared with the class. Learners will take turns interviewing witnesses and learn how to use street view to explore 5 different cities around the world. During this episode we will visit; Cairo, Egypt; New York City, NY; Berlin, Germany; Buenos Aires, Argentina; and Beijing, China. While exploring landmarks students will learn geographical as well as historical information about each city. Students will work together and use their detective skills as well as their knowledge of geography and history to determine where the thief's next location will be. Using all their skills, they will capture the thief and save the national treasure. Throughout the game I will provide guidance and clues. Learner progress will be informally monitored and adjusted as needed. Background knowledge of geography, countries, and US/world history is helpful but not mandatory. *** Extension activity: students may design a travel poster representing one of the countries that we visited during the game.***
