Kindermusik offers children exciting first experiences with musical symbols and more complex instruments, laying the groundwork for formal music instruction. -Listening to a variety of sounds, including music from individual instruments and complete compositions that highlight specific genres, cultures, composers, or concepts and sharing their listening observations -More complicated instrument-play, such as dances that include instrument play, back-and-forth rhythm conversations with instruments, and songs with accompanying instrument patterns -Experiencing various types of movement, including creative movement, movement with a partner, group, instruments, or props, and movement that explores concepts like high/low or staccato/legato -Singing a variety of songs in an appropriate range and engaging in call-and-response, echoing, and instrument play -Pretend play through music, vocal development, storytelling, listening, and movement -Introduction to music concepts and vocabulary Included in class is an interactive online portal of songs, an ebook and video field trips. Listening games, crafts that incorporate the lesson theme, and a video piano lesson are all included. Join us in this four week class, that truly takes the online learning home beyond our 40 minutes each week and incorporates it into your daily routines and rituals. New theme each month.

Supply List
We encourage children to have: -Something to tap (drum, box, plastic tub, a wooden spoon with a pot or pan) -Something to shake (shaker instrument, box of mac n cheese, rice in a plastic tub, etc.) -Any other instruments they can explore and play in class (uke, guitar, drums, mallet instruments, etc.) -Scarf, small blanket, or streamer to move.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Teacher expertise and credentials
Miss Christa is in her 22nd year teaching Kindermusik classes for babies, toddlers, preschoolers and big kids.
"I am passionate about bringing music into families everyday lives. Singing helps children transition, forms new brain connections, and creates joy in the lives of children and adults. I get to witness that joy and learning in each class!"
Christa has an advanced degree in Mathematics from Wake Forest University and sees tremendous ways that music and mathematics are connected from an early age.
"I believe that each child is important, and has value in this world. The goal is to help every child achieve their greatest potential, using music as a beautiful tool."
Christa's favorite times have been spent traveling the US and world, bringing Kindermusik into the lives of underserved communities. She loves to see children light up when the singing begins.
