In this engaging class, learners will practice rhyming, learn how to identify if two or more words rhyme, and practice beginning phonemic awareness skills. Rhyming and phonemic awareness is a precurser to becoming a successful reader!

US Grade Preschool - Kindergarten
Beginner Level
Learners will practice identifying rhymes through pictures and sounds. Content will be prepared according to Common Core kindergarten reading standards, Each learner will have an opportunity to identify and produce rhymes, as well as interact with other learners. We will discuss why knowing how to rhyme is important, and end with a game! No previous rhyming experience is necessary, however knowledge of household and outdoor vocabulary such as animal names and common objects is helpful. I use a guided approach to instruction, providing support with "I do, we do, you do".
