Our lessons will involve music, videos, interactive games and lots of moving! Each lesson will start with nursery rhymes and end with a game of Simon says (e.g. Simon says touch your h-ea-d). Day 1: Nursery rhymes: Humpty dumpty and 5 little speckled frogs. Students will identify which words rhyme in each song. Animal sounds game: farm. Students will listen to the farm animal noises and predict which animal is making the sound. Silly soup rhyming game: identifying words that rhyme with a given rhyme and adding them to the 'soup'. Simon says: students will practice squashing sounds together to make a word. Day 2: Nursery rhymes: Twinkle, twinkle and 5 in the bed. Students will identify which words rhyme in each song. Outdoor sounds game. Students will listen to the outdoor noises and predict what is making the sound. Super smoothie game: identifying words that start with the same sound and adding them to the 'smoothie'. Simon says: students will practice squashing sounds together to make a word. Day 3: Nursery rhymes: I'm a little teapot and 5 cheeky monkeys. Students will identify which words rhyme in each song. Animal sounds game: zoo. Students will listen to the zoo animal noises and predict which animal is making the sound. Name rhyming game: students will listen to the nonsense rhyme e.g. 'Tames' and say whose name it rhymes with 'James'. They will also come up with nonsense rhymes for their own name. Simon says: students will practice squashing sounds together to make a word. Day 4: Nursery rhymes: Incy Wincy Spider and 5 little ducks. Students will identify which words rhyme in each song.
