In this Multi-Day course we will work with numbers 0-20. On the classroom page there will be worksheets that you will be able to print out and use during class. These will help guide students when they practice writing their numbers 0-20. There will also be pages if students want to follow along with our number sentences on their own. If you don't have a printer - have no fear - students can use whiteboards or blank sheets of paper in class too. I will adjust my teaching to work with whatever students have available at home to them. Here is a sample schedule of class: 1. Introductions - say hello to friends 2. Practice counting 0-20. 3. Numbers warm up - count a representation on an object & then practice writing the number. For example, if a student counts 8 hearts on a flower we will all practice writing the number 8. If a student counts 13 dots on a fish, we will practice writing 13. 4. Number focus of the day (different numbers for each class) 5. Addition or subtraction number sentences using the numbers practiced within class. These will be solved together using objects or pictures. Hi, my name is Teacher Sara. I have been teaching for the past six years. Most recently I was a first grade Special Education teacher focusing on reading and math. This past year I decided to stay home with my children. I have twin girls who are two and a four month old baby girl. They keep me busy, but I cannot wait to get back into a virtual classroom!
Some of my passions include reading, math, and crafts. I would love to teach fluency lessons to help students build their reading skills! I also look forward to teaching math lessons around numbers. Other classes I look forward to teaching are: show and tell classes where we have open discussions and classes where we do crafts such as making play dough or moon sand.
Before I started teaching I finished my bachelors degree in Childhood Inclusive Education and my masters degree in Differentiated Instruction. I believe that no one student learns alike. Teaching is all about providing skills and resources to help meet students needs and levels they are currently at. We provide the building blocks for who they will grow up to be.
When I'm not teaching, or playing with my own kids, I can usually be found taking my dog for a walk, relaxing by reading a book, or baking - I love to bake!
