Description
Class Experience
Learners will practice addition within 10! We will practice addition using ten frames, our fingers, number lines, Pokemon counters and more. Standard class expectations: -Please keep your microphone muted when not engaging in class. This helps minimize background noise for all learners. I ask a lot of questions and encourage discussion. I will mute individual learners if they don't mute themselves and they have excessive background noise (dogs barking, music playing, adults on the phone etc). -Please keep video on so I can see your learners face. It really helps me gauge the effectiveness of my teaching. -Any children who have not signed up for the class should not be on screen. This is Outschool's policy. -Please be polite and kind to all learners. Negativity, arguing, name calling or bullying will not be tolerated and students will be removed. Let's keep our classroom a positive place! -Take risks, make mistakes. -Be open to new ideas. -Listen when others talk. -Have fun!
I am a STEM educator who has extensive experience teaching students about science, technology, engineering and math. I have taught courses including basic engineering and robotics to students as young as 4. I have taught learners of all ages including those getting Masters level university degrees.
No homework is required. I will send home multiple Pokemon themed activities for follow up practice at your leisure.
No supplies are needed to take this class. I encourage students to have paper and a pencil nearby if they'd like to use it while we do math together.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
50 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
