US Grade Pre-Kindergarten - Kindergarten
In this small and personal class, we will cover critical objectives for kindergarteners. After 17 years in the classroom and 3 years teaching online, I have taught many ability levels and personalities. I am skilled in adjusting and adapting the lessons for how each student learns best. We will build friendships with other students as we meet 3 times a week throughout the school year. I will provide pages as needed, such as calendar pages, number tracing, and lined writing pages for you to print and place into page protectors. Bring your binder to class each day with your dry erase marker and this will guide our learning. It will also give families an opportunity to review our class objectives outside class time. While many of the tasks will use the binder and a wipe-off marker, we will also put our binders down to sing and move to keep attention and focus. The lessons will be learner-directed so I will customize our class time and SKILL binder weekly to meet the needs of your child. I will introduce a new topic each week, but will also review past skills so you can join our class anytime in the year! We will continue to go back and revisit until I feel that it is mastered and the students are confident. We will have fun with seasonal themes to keep our lessons changing and fun. I have a calm and encouraging personality. I make sure everyone is included and has a turn to share if they choose. Teacher expertise and credentials
Oklahoma Teaching Certificate in Elementary Education
I believe that learning can take place anywhere and at anytime. We can all learn new things if someone is there to walk you through it. I feel active learning is the best way to engage the learner's eyes, ears, and hands. Teaching lower elementary for 20+ years has given me many opportunities to guide students and build their confidence in new skills.
