==================================

This live 2-semester (January - June) math course is specifically designed for kindergarten & first grade learners who:

✔ Have noticeable gaps in their addition and subtraction skills (e.g., relying on fingers for every problem).

✔ Didn't receive a strong enough math foundation for future success.

✔ Want to feel more confident in math and build speed and fluency.

✔Need basic mental math skills for greater math challenges.

✔ Need extra support in foundational math concepts.

✔ Are looking to bridge the gap between Kindergarten and 1st grade math.

✔Could benefit from a small group setting to boost their communication skills and enjoy growing in their computation speeds alongside peers.

Using the renowned Singapore Math curriculum, this full curriculum course is perfect for both advanced kindergarteners seeking a challenge and 1st graders needing a strong foundation to tackle more complex concepts.

==================================

🌟 WHAT MAKES THIS CLASS DIFFERENT? 🌟

Many kindergarteners and 1st graders are still learning to count and add with fingers - so this course was designed to give them crucial foundational skills, so they no longer struggle with basic addition and subtraction going forward.

This course solidifies math basics so students can confidently excel beyond 1st grade.

All taught by an experienced former elementary + remedial math teacher, now a homeschool mom!

==================================

🎓WHAT TO EXPECT 🎓

✔ Concentrated foundation building for future math success!
✔ Master key Kindergarten + 1st Grade concepts
✔ Improve fluency with skip-counting & math facts
✔ Add & subtract more quickly and confidently
✔ Develop critical thinking & problem-solving skills
✔ Prepare for future STEM learning
✔ Strengthen essential math skills
✔ Boost social & communication skills in a group setting
✔ Perfect for Kindergarten & 1st Grade homeschool support

🎢 CLASS STRUCTURE 🎢

This class meets (4) days a week for 40 minutes each session, with each class building upon the previous lesson for consistent skill growth and confidence.

Through both semesters, we'll be working through the Singapore Dimensions Math Level KB full curriculum. Materials are linked below!

Assessments: Our "Show What You Know" days are low-pressure, stress-free assessments to give your child the opportunity to show their understanding and help me identify areas of strength and support needs.

Please see the class Syllabus for lesson-by-lesson details!

==================================

((FAQ's))

🔍How do you accommodate different learning paces?
Great question! With almost a decade of experience working with both advanced and remedial students, I gauge when students are ready to move on or when we need to revisit concepts. Our visual math drills and learning apps (like IXL) cater to varied learning paces for each student's math mastery.

🔍 Do you assess/test students?
Yes! Our “Show What You Know Days🎉” are our informal but structured assessments. These days both show their progress in the course, and show me any areas that require a little more practice and reteaching so no student is left behind.

🔍 How can I support my child during this course, at home?
Be assured we do all the 'heavy-lifting' in class - but you can support at home if you choose to. Each week I send out a “Weekly Parent Preview” detailing our learning goals for the week. In it, I include prompts you can ask, the exact language to use, and sometimes a quick 5-minute activity you can do at home.

🔍 Is there any homework?
Yes - I offer optional homework to reinforce what we've learned in our lessons. Homework will sometimes be a simple worksheet or a YouTube video clip, etc., to simply seal the concepts. (If you want more practice for your child, check my "Additional Homework Note" in the Parental Guidance section below.)

Parental Guidance
This is Semester 2 of this course. To enroll, students must already either: A) Have completed Semester 1 of this course, or B) Began the Singapore Dimensions Math (Level KB) on their own and are looking for support. ================================== Our class meets (4) times a week, every week, including holidays (with the exception of [December 22-January 4 & March 9-15] ), to ensure consistency and accountability. I respect and honor your family's observances as I have my own - please let me know if your child will miss a session and I will provide access to the class recording! This allows us to maintain our weekly rhythm. ================================== Additional Homework Note: While we cover all curriculum material in class, if you'd like more out-of-class practice, I recommend (1 of 2) options: A: ⇢ Purchase a 1"-inch binder, 81 transparency sheets, a dry-erase marker & eraser. Place the workbook pages into the transparencies in order - to create a reusable workbook for unlimited use. (Recommended) B: ⇢ Purchase a second Singapore Dimensions Math Workbook to allow your learner a second 'at-bat' practice. ================================== Please note that because I want to ensure every learner masterfully understands the content, there's always a chance or two a class may go overtime 5 or 7 minutes (at no extra cost to you). While I don't intentionally plan for this - please just be mindful of this possibility when scheduling - every child is my priority.

Bachelor's Degree in Family and Consumer Sciences/Human Sciences from Montclair State University
As a Former Elementary and Remedial Math & ELA Teacher, I've worked with students on fundamental math through conceptual learning (vs. procedural learning). I've also worked with students on remedial math to advance their conceptual understanding of numbers and solving math through mental math strategy. Additionally, I am a Homeschool Mom myself and have used this curriculum twice over to enhance and advance both my children's mathematical foundations.
