Description
Class Experience
1) Awareness & self-discovery - Uncover their superpowers by discovering their passions & interests 2) Problem solving, creativity & collaboration - identify a problem that needs solving and use their problem solving skills, creativity and superpowers to brainstorm to come up with a solution. 3) Public speaking & validation - develop a pitch to validate their idea and present within their groups to validate their idea 4) Research & customer Profiling - Understanding who your customers are and how you are helping them. 5) Customer Service Standards - Conduct research on their competitors and brainstorm how they will stand out from the rest. 6) Planning and organisation skills - Understand all the elements to turn their idea into reality - action plan, resourcing, time management. Students will work through each of these to come up with a detailed action plan & resource list 7) Financial skills - Students will learn what revenue and profit is, what it costs them to deliver their services/products and how much to charge 8) Goal setting - Students will set personal and business objectives using SMART goals
After the online sessions, challenges are set to complete before the next session. These are fun and designed to keep teens engaged whilst minimising screen time. Typically each challenge may take from one to a few hours. They're designed such that you can go in-depth and really get into the challenges.
It is preferred that a computer/laptop is used (not an ipad or tablet) Access to the internet Quiet space Headset (optional), paper, pens Snack foods & drink If siblings or friends are participating together, they should have their computer and space Access to Kebloom's web based platform is provided to each student as part of the course. Student's login credentials will be sent to you prior to the commencement of the course.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
Informal discussion with their facilitator/mentor. Tasks are to be completed and feedback is provided on their responses. Challenges are also set and will be denied or approved by the facilitator. The student may need to resubmit their response to move through the next step of the program.
1 hour 15 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
