Class Experience

US Grade Pre-Kindergarten - Kindergarten
Welcome! I am so glad to have you in my classroom! I'm Ms. Vee, and I knew from a young age that I was meant to be a teacher!

🎓 I am a licensed teacher with certifications in K-6 classroom teaching and Elementary Music. I have six years of experience as a public school teacher and over 16 years of experience volunteering with and teaching PreK and Kindergarten students!
📆 This is a Year-Round, Full Curriculum Class, designed for learners to join at any time, as we learn and practice our skills in new ways all the time!
📒 Handouts are provided each week as part of class instruction, plus extra activities to continue practicing skills at home!
🎶 Every class includes live music and puppets to match our weekly theme!
👾 I create digital games and manipulatives to share with students to make learning more fun!
💪🏻 I bring ENERGY to every class so your learner will stay engaged and want to return for more each day!

    WHAT TO EXPECT
=================
- Interaction! Students are encouraged to participate in class. It is my goal to leave microphones on for this class so students can add to the conversation and interact with other learners. If a child becomes a distraction to the class, I will mute that student for a limited time to make sure other learners can focus and join in on the conversation!
- Live Music! In addition to my classroom certification, I am also a certified PreK-12 Music Teacher with extensive experience teaching PreK and Kindergarten students. I will be playing my ukulele and singing along with your students!
- Puppets! I've collected puppets for my brick-and-mortar classroom for six years, and I'm excited to share new puppets and stuffies that relate to our weekly theme!

=============
ACTIVITY PACKET
=============
The price of this class includes an activity packet that coincides with our daily lessons! Printing this packet will benefit your child, as they can follow exactly what we are doing in class on their papers at home!
**The activity packet will be posted in the online Outschool classroom on Sunday nights by 7:00 p.m. EST.**
Most weeks, the packet will be posted earlier than this. If there is a delay, I will keep parents and learners informed through the Outschool classroom.

Hey there!

My name is Ms. Metal, and yes, one of my favorite parts of introducing myself to kids is when they realize my name is a real word! And then again when they realize how it connects to music!

Music can be explored and made in a variety of ways.

We can:
💃🏼 use movement to convey ideas
🎤 experiment with our voices
🎵 learn to read and express musical ideas

Learning an instrument challenges the brain in various ways.

It requires:
🧠 mental focus
💪🏻 physical agility
💭 new ways of thinking

In exchange, students achieve:
🧠 improved memory and attention
💪🏻 enhanced fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination
💭 emotional regulation

👉 That's all to say, learning an instrument changes your brain for the better!

--------------------------------------------------------

I can't wait to share my love of music with you through song, dance, or learning a new instrument and reading music! However you'd like to experiment with music, I'm honored to be part of this journey with you.

See you in the classroom!
