Class Experience

US Grade 2 - 5
Intermediate Level
This 1:1 tutor reading class is a basic overview of Godzilla and Kaiju. The age of the student may be younger or older as listed so anyone may join. It is a reading class where Cowboy Joe, my human-like puppet and I will read about the history of Kaiju. We will also have the learner read a few sentences to reinforce reading comprehension and decoding skills. We will also take brief breaks to watch short clips of the various monsters. Then attempt to read the unique names of the Kaiju monsters. This is a great course for introducing the learners to Kaiju while practicing our reading, segmenting and decoding skills.

The age of the student will be no problem as long as the parent or caregiver feels that their child may benefit from the course. Any child of any age is welcome in my class.

As an added bonus: the student will receive a PDF sheet of 22 Kaiju Titans and Godzilla with the approximate dates of the movies or series that they were in.

The name Godzilla is well known and there are versions that are now appearing on the movie and tv screens that are different than what was seen in prior Godzilla interpretations. In this class we will read and decode 20 Kaiju characters and read about the history of Kaiju.

Sample paragraph: "Kaiju, also known as Daikaiju, Titans or Giant Monsters, are a type of creature or monster that are recognized by their gigantic size and great power. Many different kaiju have existed on many different planets but most notably, a lot of Kaiju activity in the galaxy seems to be on the Planet Earth or Terra. Prime examples of the Kaiju race include Godzilla, Mothra, Rodan, and King Ghidora."

My famous Outschool human-like puppet, Cowboy Joe and I can not wait for you to meet several of the toy monsters that we collected. These will be shown throughout the class. We will have a few minutes for the learner to share anything that they would like to share that has the topic of Godzilla, Kaiju, dinosaurs or anything they feel like sharing or not. This will add to all the fun that we will have in this informative 1:1 reading class!
