Class Experience

If you liked the Wacky Wednesday Junior Comedy Class, you will love this camp! It's a fun-filled, 3-day camp that goes more in depth to teach your learner even more joke telling skills, how to choose really good jokes, AND how to be a supportive audience member. Students will get to share 1-3 jokes each day if they wish.
Camp will follow this format:
Day 1: Theme: Wacky Wild Creatures: This day' jokes will focus mostly on wild animals, dinosaurs, and mythical creatures
We will begin by greeting one another and meeting our puppet helpers, followed by an ice-breaker joke told by the teacher and a little time to get to know one another. Students can share one joke at this time if they wish.
Next, we will review the "look, listen, laugh" skills for joke telling and learn about choosing jokes that "play with words" and are "not too long". We will see/hear some examples.
Then, we will get to share more jokes, and discuss how we used our skills.
We will keep a sharp eye out for Froggy and Monkey (my puppet helpers) to give us clues for the answer to a riddle.

Day 2: Theme: Silliness in Space: This day's jokes will focus mostly on our solar system and astronauts
We will begin with an ice-breaker joke told by the teacher.
Next, we will review the "look, listen, laugh" skills for joke telling and learn about choosing jokes that "respect everyone" We will see/hear some examples and.
Then, we will get to share jokes, and discuss how we used our skills.
We will keep a sharp eye out for Froggy and Monkey (my puppet helpers) to give us clues for the answer to a riddle.

Day 3: theme Funny on the Farm: This day's jokes will focus mostly on farm animals.
We will begin with an ice-breaker joke told by the teacher.
Next, we will review the "look, listen, laugh" skills for joke telling and learn about choosing jokes that "surprise your brain" We will see/hear some examples.
Then, we will get to share more jokes, and discuss how we used our skills.
We will keep a sharp eye out for Froggy and Monkey (my puppet helpers) to give us clues for the answer to a riddle.

At the end of each day, We will sing a quick song (those who wish can join) to remind us of our joke-telling and joke-choosing skills.
I can't wait to laugh and learn with your awesome young comedians!
