A Cooking Class for Beginners. Step by step we will go through recipes and define different preparations and cooking methods. Students will learn how to use a variety of measuring methods to properly follow recipes for the best end results. The kids will prepare their own food at home with assistance from me online. Recipes and list of ingredients will be posted on site before class to prepare each student ahead of time. Week 1 - Lesson: Kitchen Safety Prepare: Breakfast - Yogurt, Fruit & Granola Parfaits Week 2 - Lesson: Kitchen Using Equipment Prepare: Beverage - Berry Smoothie Week 3 - Lesson: Measuring Prepare: Snack - Cinnamon Sugar Popcorn Week 4 - Lesson: Multi Step Instructions Prepare: Lunch - Flatbread Pizza A list of ingredients will be posted on the class page a week before the class so there is enough time to purchase ingredients if need be. Recipes will be available for the students to follow and keep.
Learning Goals
Students will learn how to follow step by step directions, mathematical skills through measuring ingredients and doubling recipes, exposure to the chemistry of ingredients reacting together, creativity and exploration of flavors, problem solving skills if there is a potential issue with the kitchen equipment or how a recipe was measures or prepared and increase their culinary vocabulary. Cooking and preparing food for oneself is one of the most basic essential life skills that anyone can learn.

Supply List
I will provide the recipe and the student will need to purchase the food for the recipe. A list of ingredients will be posted in the classroom a few days before each class begins.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
