Class Experience

US Grade 1 - 3
In this flex course, students will read a set number of pages/chapters per day and then complete fun activities to accompany the book. The on-demand classes discuss the book and its themes, characters, and other details.
For a list of topics/reading standards that will be taught, see classes below.
My teaching style is laid back and fun. I like to have fun with these stories and be silly with the kids. Junie B. is a real character and I like to have fun chatting about the antics she gets up to in her books.
There will be a packet that accompanies the book that you will be asked to either complete online, or you may want to print and have your child hand-write responses. Some of the more hands-on activities will need to be printed.
Learners as young as first grade can complete this course by listening to read-alongs on youtube, or others may choose to read the books independently. I, along with many others, have recordings of this book to listen to for free online. Both options are wonderful for building comprehension skills.

In class one, we will discuss chapters 1, 2, and 3. (These are short chapters) and complete activities on character traits, setting, vocabulary acquisition, and retelling.

Class two will focus on chapters 4, 5, and 6. This session will focus on many of the skills from the first class, along with discussions about sequencing.

Class three will cover chapters 7 and 8. We will discuss problem/solution and touch on a wealth of other standards already listed above.

The fourth and final class will finish the book with chapters 9 and 10. This is where we will complete a culminating activity that deals with Theme and retelling. Our final projects are always very engaging and fun to complete.
