Juneteenth is a significant American holiday. It is a day when formerly enslaved African-Americans were freed from slavery. For many years people celebrated this holiday with many various and traditions. One of these traditions was to make and eat red foods. In honor of this tradition, we will make red velvet cupcakes!

Students will learn:
1. Cupcake baking techniques
2. How to make tangy cream cheese frosting
3. The importance of time and temperature
4. How to craft miniature Juneteenth Flags picks to decorate the cupcakes.

My classes are interactive. I like to to begin class with all my learners on the same page. So, it is IMPORTANT to come to class prepared with all ingredients measured out and your equipment ready for use.

****Please look over the learning goals to see if this is a good fit for your learner. **** Some techniques are for intermediate bakers.
