2-4 hours per week. The student will be required to create an outline from a story, retell the story from the outline, write a rough draft, and complete a final typed paper of the story. Multiple stories will be read, outlined, and rewritten with stylistic techniques. The amount of time spent writing and rewriting a story will depend on the student. However, I estimate 2-4 hours a week working on a story.Assessment
The student will submit their final typed story to the teacher each week by email. The teacher will review the story and submit a written review to the student. Papers submitted on time will be reviewed. Late papers will not be reviewed. Papers will have due dates.Class Experience

New to Outschool? Use code ReginaA20 to save $20 on this class! Summer Boot Camp is an IEW Writing class. This class will meet for 4 weeks twice a week. This class will use the IEW writing program. The IEW program assist students with incorporating stylistic techniques to their writing. In this small group session the student will be presented with writing assignments which will allow them to practice various IEW stylistic techniques. This class will cover unit 1-2 Outlines & Writing from Notes and unit 3 Story Sequence Model for retelling narrative stories. This class may be a great fit for students who are not comfortable with their writing skills or students who may want to enhance their writing skills. The IEW program may ease the stress of coming up with a topic to write about because students will be provided with a source to rewrite which will allow them to spend time practicing stylist techniques taught. This class will cover: Unit 1 – 2 Note Making and Outline, Writing from Notes • Students will learn how to create a keyword outline (KWO) • Students will learn how to retell the story from the KWO • Students will learn how to write their story from the KWO • Students will learn IEW stylistic techniques Unit 3 Retelling Narratives Stories • Students will identify the important components of a fictional story • Students will place answers from questions in a story sequence outline • Students will rewrite a story from the story sequence chart • Students will apply stylistic techniques learned to assignments Note: All final assignments must be typed doubled spaced, Times New Roman #12 font. Assignments must be emailed to the teacher 1 day before class. Assignments will have due dates. Late assignments will NOT be evaluated. Note: Each learner experience will be different, and I will work toward improving weaknesses. =================================================
