Where they can enroll at any point and explore a new and exciting topic each week. Through this engaging learning experience, students will gain in-depth knowledge of diverse civilizations, cultures, and develop a strong foundation and a love for history. Throughout the course, students will not only expand their historical understanding but also develop essential core vocabulary skills. Our experienced teacher will provide engaging storytelling sessions, sharing captivating stories from multiple texts through screen sharing. To deepen their comprehension and reinforce learning, students will be provided with thoughtfully designed worksheets. The course commences with an exploration of the Mediterranean region, where learners will gain a comprehensive understanding of its geography. They will delve into the captivating world of ancient Rome, journeying through Roman mythology, early Rome, the Roman Republic, Julius Caesar, Cleopatra, Caesar Augustus, the Roman Empire, Pompeii, and the rise of Christianity. In addition, students will examine ancient Rome's political ideas, institutions, architecture, literature, historical sources, and analyze the rise and fall of Rome through essay writing. Students will also embark on an exciting study of rivers, using maps and globes to locate continents, major oceans, and significant world rivers. They will explore the benefits and dangers associated with rivers, learn about ancient civilizations and modern cities established near rivers, and understand how rivers have played a pivotal role in major historical events. Some of the rivers studied include the Ganges, Indus, Yellow (Huang He), Yangtze (Chang Jiang), Tigris, Euphrates, Nile, Niger, Congo, Amazon, Orinoco, Mississippi, Mackenzie, Yukon, Murray, Darling, Volga, Danube, and Rhine. Future topics in this engaging course include an exploration of the Vikings, the earliest Americans, Canada, the exploration of North America, and the Thirteen Colonies.
