Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello! My name is Meridith Gray and I'm so excited to be an educator with Outschool. I currently work from home where I am a wife and also a Mama to my three year old son and one year old daughter. "Mama" and "wife" are two of the most treasured titles I hold! Though, I also take pride in the fact that I am a fifth generation teacher, beginning with my great great grandfather. Not only that, but I was the fourth generation to graduate from Salisbury University with a degree in education. Cool, huh?! I currently hold a dual Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education and Elementary Education. Immediately following my graduation, I became a public school fourth grade teacher for four years. I taught reading, math, science, and social studies. I came out of the classroom when I had my son and have been teaching ESL online ever since!
I love being a lifelong learner and I love to encourage that in my students' as well. I have taken many trainings and 18 hours of Master's class credits while in the public school system centered on how to meet children where they are with differing strengths, weaknesses, and interests. One of my teaching passions is building up well rounded learners. My ongoing goal is, to not only teach academics, but to help instill qualities and truths in young people that will encourage them to become productive members of society that operate with compassion, love, responsibility, self-awareness, and confidence.
I am so excited to offer classes that will be able to inspire these mindsets and characteristics in your learners of many ages. I am also thrilled to incorporate some of my personal hobbies and passions such as baking and crafting into some classes, again, for students of several ages. Finally, but certainly not least, I can't wait to jump into working with your elementary aged learners in some creative and fun academic centered classes, with a focus on math and reading. I look forward to seeing you in the classroom!
