Class Experience

In this multi-day course, students will enjoy a class of interaction and learning as we dive into identifying and counting money. Through visuals, games, modeling and discussion, students will have the opportunity to practice learning a new skill each week, building on the prior week's lesson. I use the teaching method, "I do, we do, you do" during my instruction where I will first model the skill, then we practice together, and then the students practice independently. I strive to make my classes very fun and interactive. Please note: I do mute the class as needed during instruction due to instances of noisy background, etc., so that all students can hear me and other students that are talking. I want to make sure every students feels important and heard.

Each week's schedule will go as follows:
Week 1: Introductions, introduce the objectives for the course, begin first week's skills- identifying coins
Week 2: Brief discussion with students, review of prior day's lesson, begin second day's skill- Continuing practicing identifying coins, values, counting by 1s, 5s, and 10s to prepare for counting money, counting money up to $1.
Week 3: Brief discussion with students, review of prior week's lesson, begin third week's skill- counting money up to $5.
Week 4: Brief discussion with students, review of prior week's lesson, begin fourth week's skill- counting money up to $5, play games to reinforce learning such as -What can I buy?, I Have Who Has, Money Bingo, etc.

Supply List
I encourage students to bring a dry-erase board and dry-erase markers to practice. It would also be beneficial for students to have coins and bills to use during the class. You can print them or buy toy money to use. This will be a great way for students to interact with the lesson during class. If there are any other supplies needed, I will let you know through the classroom tab.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
