Italian Intermediates: Time, Verbs, Conjugating, and Indirect-Object Pronouns
Your student will gain confident in learning Italian by focusing on grammar, verbs, and mini-conversation skills. We will go over some verbs, pronouns, conjugating in the present tense and passato prossimo, telling time, & prepositions.

This course is the start of a series after Let's Start Speaking Italian 1-8. However, your student can take this even if they are a beginner in Italian as any information from the other classes that are necessary to understand this material will be looked at. Week 1: Learn how to say time (l'ora) expressions in order to answer Che ora e'?/ Che ore sono? (What time is it?) Week 2: When are you really supposed to use the prepositions a, in, da and per? Week 3-4: What is reflexive verbs (versus transitive verbs)? We will learn what verbs look like that are reflexive, how to conjugate them usually in the present tense, and learn 22 common reflexive verbs. Week 5: Learn how to conjugate reflexive verbs in another tense-- passato prossimo Week 6: Learn pronomi indiretti/ indirect-object pronouns (and compare them with direct-object pronouns) Week 7: Review Each week, as long as time permits, we will also do mini-conversation skills. *Each time, we will review the information from the last lesson. *Students will at times be given a PDF, worksheets, etc. (Homework is optional) *Subject to change.
Learning Goals
The goal of this class is to help students get excited and feel confident in speaking some Italian through learning some key grammar and verb skills in order to get them interested in foreign languages for college or feeling more confident in Italian for an upcoming trip to Italy, learning Italian, or living in Italy.

I believe that taking foreign language classes opens the doors to many opportunities. In high school, I took Spanish, and at university, I learned up to the Intermediate level in Italian. I now give students the opportunity to learn the Italian language by making it fun and engaging through my teaching style, print-offs, and Quizlets games.
