Class Experience

Building confidence is key to any foreign language, and that is what I will be doing through this class. (Italian for Teens 3 is not contingent on students taking Italian for Teens 1 or Italian for Teens 2, although it would be better for them to take Italian for Teens 1 first to learn some basics.)

Week 1: Students will learn some family vocabulary
Week 2: Students will review and learn some zoo vocabulary.
Week 3: Students will learn more zoo vocabulary.
Week 4: Students will learn how to count by 10s up to 100 and how to sing the happy birthday song in Italian.

*Each time, we will review the vocabulary from the last lesson.
*Students will be given an optional homework (such as PDF, worksheet, etc)

*Schedule is subject to change.

I will have more Italian classes coming soon: I generally offer more Italian classes based on interest.
------------------------------------------
(If you have younger students, I have classes for them too!).

*Also you can request a new time if you need a different time slot.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
This class is mainly for teenagers (13-16): however, I do sometimes make accommodations for some 11-12 year olds. If you have any questions or want your 11/12 year old in the class, message me.
Learning Goals
The goal of this class is to help students get excited and feel confident in learning Italian through learning vocabulary and small dialogues in order to get them interested in foreign languages in college and give them a head start to see if the Italian language interests them to take more of when they attend college.

Parental Guidance
No YouTube account is necessary. I may show some videos in class related to Italian. Those links will be posted in the classroom if students want to watch them again or review. They will need a free Quizlet account if they would like to review vocabulary from class. The free accounts still show ads so keep this in mind: if you don't want ads, you may have to pay a subscription if they want to use this optional review tool.

Bachelor's Degree from North Carolina State University
In high school, I was only offered Spanish. I believe that taking foreign language classes opens the doors to many opportunities. My love for language has continued to grow and at university, I took Italian. I now give students the opportunity to learn a language that they are interested in and make learning fun. I have even been known to take facts and put them into a tune to help memorize them easier!
