I don't assign homework, but I encourage doing something throughout the week, such as picking out an everyday object and then learning its name in Italian, or choosing a favorite subject we can translate while practicing vocabulary during the lesson.Class Experience
Beginner Level
In this class, the students will learn to communicate in the Italian language. This is an introductory course for those with zero to little knowledge of Italian. The topics covered during these lessons are basic vocabulary (e.g. greetings, days and months, everyday objects, talking about family, table talk). Students will be taught conversational Italian, pronunciation, grammar, as well as Italian culture. I will expose the students to the language in each class, encouraging students with a variety of methods. I am a patient, enthusiastic, positive, challenging, and motivating teacher. I always have a lesson plan, but can be flexible if required. Students will interact through discussion. Week 1: Introductions. Your name, hellos, and goodbyes. Words of politeness. Week 2: The days, the months, the seasons. Week 3: Numbers, time, dates. Knowing how to use numbers, and how to ask for the date, among other basic notions, constitutes an important conversational skill. Week 4: What do you like? Your hobbies, small talk. How to order and ask for things. Week 5: More about you. Family members. How to say "my" or "your". Week 6: Going shopping. Review what we have learned.

Students will learn to ask simple questions and provide answers for traveling in Italy.

Hello! My name is Lucia, and I am an Italian and English language teacher. Born in Italy, I moved to the US as a child and made it my home. I am a native Italian speaker fluent in English, which I learned as a second language.
