In this 8-week course, we'll be reviewing alphabet sounds, blending words, segmenting words, and all the necessities of becoming a reader. We will be doing a lot of hands-on activities and games to help enforce skills.
Class experience
US Grade Pre-Kindergarten - Kindergarten
This will be a course that will give students the necessary skills to be able to read words and short stories fluently. Topics covered: Review of alphabet sounds, blending words, segmenting words, isolating words, phonemic awareness, and finally comprehending what they're reading using strategies. To ensure effective tutoring, the teacher suggests meeting 2x per week. Book additional recurring meetings after the initial purchase.This class is taught in English.
Students will improve their fluency, as well as their comprehension.
I have taught ELA since 2013 and am currently a reading interventionist.
Students must have knowledge of their 26 alphabet sounds before this course.
