This beginner course for Irish Dance will help your child grow in balance, flexibility, muscle strength and cardiovascular strength. The intricate steps will help your child's cognitive skills from memorization to recognizing patterns. Studying this cultural art form will also help expand their horizons while helping them be active and have fun.
Esther Pujol is a registered Irish Dance teacher through An Coimisiun Le Rince Gaelacha, the world governing body of Irish Dance in Dublin, Ireland.
There will be no homework for this class. Students are invited to practice steps they remember from class but this is not mandatory.
Don't forget to have a small area prepared for your child to dance (4 feet by 4 feet minimum). Any kind of flooring will be fine (carpeted, hardwood, concrete, etc.) Children should be dressed in comfortable and loose-fitting clothing and wear socks. Make sure you have a water bottle handy as we will be working hard!
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Ms. Esther will send a final written assessment to each parent about how their child has progressed and will also inform parents of how to move forward with Irish Dance if their child is interesting in continuing.
1 hour per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
