In this 4 week class, we will take a deep dive into the work of the Stock Market. Students will examine the ways the Stock Market works, understand how to analyze stocks by looking at numbers, fundamentals and the financial health of a company in order to help them build the knowledge base needed to be well-informed, smart stock traders. This class will be structure by having the first 25-30 minutes of class time dedicated to building new knowledge in the Stock Market, while the remaining 15 minutes or so of class will be dedicated to discussing the real world topics and events occurring on Wall Street, as well as understanding how global events and markets can impact Wall Street. This course will be conducted by some light lecture, large amounts of student directed discussion. Additionally, this class will include a Stock Market Simulation game to help students build a greater understanding of how to buy and sell individual stocks, analyze investment opportunities, and manage their investment accounts. This course will be structured in the following format: Week 1: How the markets work & Bear vs. Bull Markets Week 2: Economic Reporting, S.E.C., and filing rules and regulations Week 3: Mergers, Splits, Earnings, and IPOs Week 4: Global Markets and World Events and how they effect the markets. This course requires some basic knowledge ideas and concepts regarding stocks, and buying and selling of them. Students need to have this prerequisite knowledge or have completed "Investing for Beginners."
Learning Goals
Students will build an in-depth understanding of the Stock Market, Stocks, and the ins-and-outs of Stock Trading to help them grow into informed and savvy investors.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I have a Master of Business Administration. I have 3 years of experience teaching business, economics, and finance classes at the Junior/Career college level, in addition to 3 years of classroom experience teaching middle and high school students, and 1 year of experience as an elementary & middle school principal. Finally, I have 4 four years experience as a National Football League Players Association Certified Contract Advisor, during which time I negotiated contracts, as well as helped to educate my clients as to the proper ways to prepare themselves for financial independence after their sports careers had ended. It is this same passion to help young people build financial security and freedom that I enables me to guide students.
