US Grade 2 - 5
No prior knowledge is required. We will go over ventriloquism basics such as lip control, pronunciation, and some standard information about puppet movement. This course is a precursor to my class, You're No Dummy: Ventriloquism For Beginners. This is a hands on experience to get a brief rundown of what to expect when learning the art. I will teach this as a lecture and students will be enabled an opportunity to ask any questions regarding what they've learned. There will not be any homework assigned, but I will be providing worksheets to help them remember certain steps.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Before I introduce myself, I want you to know that I currently have limited availability. I am only available for Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays. Hello! My name is Diana Smith and I am a professional ventriloquist and visual artist. My passion for the arts began when I was a small child. If I could credit anyone in particular, it would be an art teacher I had from when I was in the fourth grade. She assigned us a project on cartooning. Next thing you know, I was hooked. My passion for ventriloquism began during my early undergrad years. It started as an odd intrigue but eventually grew to be my biggest passion to date. Today, I perform school assemblies for a living. I choose to teach lessons in ventriloquism because I wish to contribute to keeping this art form alive and running. Younger generations can thrive on obtaining such a fun and unique skill. My philosophy is, "if you can dream it, you can live it." It has certainly helped me along the way. My other passions in life include art history, malacology, and classic literature. Thank you for your consideration!
