Join me as we examine the turbulent history, and the fall of ancient Greece and how it influenced later civilizations such as Macedonia and Rome. This class will cover the Persian Wars, the Peloponnesian War, and the conquest of Greece by Alexander the Great. It is not necessary for learners to come to class without any background knowledge! I can explain the development of the polis, Greek expansion, and rivalries between Sparta and Athens. I can explain the importance of Alexander’s conquest, legacy, and the development of the Hellenistic Era. I can describe the influence of Ancient Greece on other civilizations.
I am a licensed middle school and high Social Studies teacher in the state of Ohio. I have been teaching Social Studies to middle school students for the last four years. I have used this same lesson with students in the classroom and it has always been highly engaging. I also have a Bachelor's degree in both Education and History.
