US Grade 4 - 7
Join me as we examine the turbulent history, and the fall of ancient Greece and how it influenced later civilizations such as Macedonia and Rome. This class will cover the Persian Wars, the Peloponnesian War, and the conquest of Greece by Alexander the Great. It is not necessary for learners to come to class without any background knowledge! This course will be taught using visual aids via PowerPoint in a lecture-based format. Learners will be expected to ask questions and discuss as a group the material that we are covering, so the discussion is also a critical element to the overall class structure. This is a very interactive class. During the 50 minute class periods, students should expect to answer questions to check their understanding and participate in class discussions. It is not necessary for students to have any background knowledge on the subject. However, I would highly recommend my Introduction to the Geography of Ancient Greece, Introduction to the Government of Ancient Greece, and Introduction to the Golden Age of Greece courses for maximum benefit.
