Class Experience

Guided Reading is small-group reading instruction that allows the teacher to meet students where they are and lead them forward with intention and precision. As a result, students are able to process increasingly challenging books with fluency and comprehension.

Having guided reading with 2 learners will help them to interact and engage in a group while building comprehension and fluency.

1) What will be taught? I will be working with students on reading and writing skills in a small group setting of two students.
2) What topics will I cover? Students will read an online book, learn vocabulary, answer comprehension questions, and . I will focus on what the students need on their reading level (shared by the parent).
3) I will also assess your child during this time. The assessment I provide will help me determine which level ongoing class your chid should be placed in.
I am a prior K-4 classroom teacher and reading specialist so I have experience teaching students to read. We will work on phonics skills, story elements, and work on writing skills.
