We will learn about baking with yeast and what it takes to create a successful recipe using yeast. We will learn about different kitchen equipment such as ovens and stand mixers and their various attachments. Students will be introduced to baking by following a recipe as they create their own home made pizza.

Learners will be assessed by the production of their finished product, a delicious home made pizza.Grades Offered
Supplies: 4 cups all purpose flour 1 packet rapid rise yeast 2 Tablespoons sugar 1 teaspoon salt 1 1/2 cup warm water (not hotter than 110 degrees) 2 Tablespoons Olive oil (plus a little more to spread the crust) You will need sauce, cheese and toppings of your choice. We will use a pizza pan or stone to bake the pizza. We will use the oven and you may use a stand mixer if you would like.
